Penelope Cruz, Academy Award-winning actress, and philanthropist, is the newest brand ambassador for Emirates Airline. Emirates has announced this newest partnership for its upcoming ad campaign. Cruz, who is already a passionate fan of the Emirates brand and frequent flyer, was thrilled to collaborate with the airline after years of flying on some of her most special trips.
In exclusive behind-the-scenes footage shot onboard a signature A380 aircraft, Cruz revealed her passion for Emirates and the positive association she has with the brand. The new television spot will start to air globally from June 2023 and feature Cruz sampling all the exclusive luxuries that Emirates First and Business Class customers experience as they Fly Better.
From crafted beverages in the A380 Onboard Lounge, indulgent showers above the clouds, cheering for a football game shown on live TV, to relishing generous helpings of luxury caviar – there’s something guaranteed for everyone wanting to have a spectacular flight.

The TV spots will launch globally June 2023 in both English and Spanish, featuring the theme ‘travel is not just about the end destination; it’s also about how you get there’. Behind-the-scenes footage shot aboard an Emirates A380 aircraft showcases all the exclusive luxuries that First and Business Class customers experience when they Fly Better with Emirates.
Cruz can be seen enjoying crafted beverages in the Onboard Lounge, indulging in showers above the clouds, cheering for a football game on live TV, and savoring luxury caviar. Other spots depict her experiencing spacious Premium Economy seats, interacting with Cabin Crew in multiple languages, viewing movies on Emirates’ award-winning ice inflight entertainment system (with a 32-inch full HD LCD screen – the largest available in aviation!), using personal temperature controls in her private First Class Suite, and wearing signature hydra-active moisturizing pajamas to prepare for a restful sleep on her lie-flat bed accompanied by plush amenities.
The series of ads were directed by Robert Stromberg – double Oscar-winning Hollywood director – who worked closely with the Emirates brand team to ensure that they conveyed thoughtful luxury while retaining Penelope’s famous cheeky sense of humor. Renowned production house Ridley Scott Associates also contributed to the projects as did Framestore – multi award-winning creative studio for special effects.

Following other successful campaigns such as ‘Burj Girl’, ‘Jennifer Aniston onboard Emirates’ and ‘Gerry the Goose’, Cruz will represent this new ad series which will air worldwide on TV news channels plus digital channels owned by Emirates themselves with more joint activities planned throughout next year’s calendar too.
