Every cabin crew needs to survive a demanding schedule as most airlines operate night and day, which leaves them no time to do their personal errands or make time for themselves. What more if it is about staying fit and healthy, right? You’d probably choose to sleep than spend time planning your meals for the next few days or weeks, and that’s understandable.

If you’re currently employed as a flight attendant, you probably have a jam-packed schedule that you rarely have the time to even hit the gym for your workout routines. But that’s normal, given that there are a lot of things you have to deal with such as jet lag, exhaustion, different meal times, poor meal choices and more. However, you should learn how to take good care of yourself as early as possible to avoid any health problems in the future.

Why should you bother maintaining a good health?

If you’re asking yourself this question, then you probably don’t have any idea how a cabin crew’s flight routine go by. Failing or refusing to take good care of your own health can do more damage than you think. As an example, cabin crews don’t often get a full 8-hour of sleep due to different schedules and they also have to do physically-draining tasks such as standing for long hours and helping out passengers lift their belongings. Eating unhealthy food plus lack of exercise will weaken your immune system and will slow down your metabolism. Not to mention that it will be noticeable through your skin. You will most likely get pimples, dark under eye circles, and dull skin.

Meanwhile, if you continue disregarding your health condition, it can further progress into more serious illness that your family might not have in their medical background. Therefore, it will be great if you can prevent any kind of disease from taking a toll on your life, isn’t it?

Now, how can you maintain good health despite your busy schedule?

1. Drink plenty of water

This advice never really gets old. Hydration is important for weight loss, brain activity, and more. If you think that water is just an ordinary liquid, you’re completely mistaken. Cabin crews need to drink lots of water to keep their energy going and give them an alert mind.

2. Exercise when you have the chance

Some people keep their unhealthy habits and say that they don’t have the time to hit the gym. But then, if there’s a will, there’s always a way. Exercises don’t really need to be done at the gym only. Hotel rooms can be spacious enough to do some stretching or cardio workouts. The only enemy you’ll have to battle with is laziness.

3. Indulge on Healthy Snacks

Nowadays, there are a lot of options to avoid unhealthy snacking on junk foods. You can buy your raw nuts, dried fruits, and a wide array of trail mixes from the nearest grocery store or the mall. But, if you’d really like to put an end to your habit of eating whenever you feel like it, you can do that by mixing organic chia seeds to your drink or smoothie. It is a super food that boosts the feeling of being full caused by water!

4. Take Vitamins

Cabin crews need to a good stamina and energy to fulfill their duties, and sometimes, food isn’t enough for that purpose. You can always opt to take vitamins for strong immune system and to stay healthy.

5. Take a breather

It is important that you should make time for yourself to do things you enjoy like watching a movie, catching up with your family and friends, shopping and more. Remember that being too workaholic may fatten up your wallet, but it can wore out your body as well. Learn to balance them.

These tips are just a few of the things that you can do to show yourself some love, which you can easily do despite having a lot of things on your shoulder. Staying fit and healthy doesn’t only improve your well-being, but it also helps you to provide better service as a cabin crew.
