Flight attendants have one of the most interesting jobs in the world. They get to travel to new places, meet new people, and experience different cultures. Onboard the Aircraft

An airline attendant’s job is to provide excellent customer service while making sure the safety of passengers onboard an aircraft. They are accountable for different tasks, from checking and preparing the cabin before take-off to helping passengers during the flight. Flight attendants also play an important role in emergency situations, such as providing first aid or evacuating the plane.

On a typical day, an airline attendant will arrive at the airport two hours before the flight is scheduled to depart. They will attend a briefing with the pilot and other crew members, during which they will go over the flight plan and discuss any special instructions. After the briefing, they will help passengers board the plane and take their seats.

Once everyone is onboard and seated, the flight attendant will give a safety demonstration. They will then remain aboard the aircraft during the flight in case any passengers need assistance. Upon landing, they will help passengers disembark and will prepare the cabin for the next flight if it’s a turnaround flight. For layover flights, they will disembark soon after passengers disembark, once they have completed their post-landing duties. Flight attendant are given their roster schedules monthly so they know before showing up for briefing if they will get a turnaround or layover flight. The schedule is also meant to help them plan their rest and their personal lives as well.

After Take Off

After takeoff, flight attendants have a lot to do to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers. First, they must check that all overhead compartments are securely closed and that seat belts remained fastened if the seat belt sign is still switched on. They also need to make sure that everyone is having an overall relaxing flight. They may need to help with any queries or problems that passengers have. Special attention might be needed to be given to elderly passengers, parents with infants, etc.

Once the seatbelt sign is switched off, depending on the airline and on the flying time, a service will be conducted by the flight attendants. This include from serving tea or coffee and a small snack to serving a full hot meal with drinks. They also need to make sure the plane interior is kept clean and tidy which includes the aisle, galleys, toilets, etc. This is matter of maintaining the plane it’s professional look which in turn represents the brand of the airline. It is also  matter of safety as unwanted rubbish everywhere can be a pose a hazard to crews and passengers.

For landing, flight attendants make sure the plane is ready to land. Flight attendants need to perform this duty thoroughly as the pilots will not land the plane unless the cabin is ready. This means everyone is sitting in an upright position with their seat belts fastened, tray tables stowed, seat back upright, no passenger in the toilets, etc. The plane will then start its descent into the airport, and the flight attendants will be on hand to help with any final queries or problems that passengers may have.

They also make sure that any loose items are securely stored away. The flight attendants serve food and drink to the passengers and answer any questions they may have. 

During the flight, they regularly check on the passengers to make sure they are comfortable. They also keep an eye out for any potential problems, such as sick passengers or unruly behavior. Once the plane has landed, the flight attendants help the passengers to disembark and wish them a safe journey.

Flying is an Addiction
